Looking for something to do in your spare time during summer?  Why not check out dwells top hot spots in Bristol, Liverpool, Manchester and Newcastle.  Whether you’re wanting to see what your site has to offer, or wanting to explore your city, have a look at the below options! Let’s hope the weather stays kind to us all…

Not only does Bristol have great weather during the Summer (really sorry if this has jinxed it!), it also has many activities or events for you to get stuck in to.

This weekend, from 21st-23rd July, the famous Bristol Harbour Festival will be taking place at, you guessed it, the Harbour!!! Make sure you get yourself down there as it’s free entry, and you can enjoy the free concerts in the amphitheatre, watch amazing dance shows or even grab yourself a bargain on the stalls! The majority of these are only a 10 minute bus ride away from Hotwells House so what are you waiting for?

Bristol Zoo is only a 15 minute bus ride away from Hotwells. Not only will you get to visit and see all your favourite animals, they hold dedicated experience days: on 28th July, you can be a part of their Pop-Up Festival, or the following day on 29th July, they’ll have an outdoor cinema so why not get involved?

Rather stay close to home? No problem at all! We’ll be holding different events onsite, such as movie nights paying homage to some of the greatest films around – be sure to keep an eye on our social media pages and around your site for more information!

This city has plenty to offer, so let’s see if you can check off any of your summer bucket list points with the below events!

Head on over to the Pier Head Village on the waterfront for all things fun – it’s now open! For you thrill seekers out there, it’s got you covered – have a go on three of Europe’s tallest rides if you’re brave enough! Or if you’d rather have both feet firmly on the ground, no problem, there’s still lots of things to do: from watching Merseyside’s emerging talent or engrossing yourself in Liverpool’s finest food and drink!

If you’re wanting to see how Liverpool’s famous music scene came to be, make sure you visit the Cavern Club – this venue hosted the likes of The Beatles and even Cilla Black. For everything Beatlemania, check out The Beatles Story exhibition – you’ll go on an atmospheric journey through the lives, times, culture and music of the famous band.

Not wanting to venture off site? We’ve got that sorted! At Cathedral Campus, we’ll be holding different events such as retro game nights trying to see who the greatest board game master of all time is! We’ll also be wandering further into the city centre to show you Liverpool’s greatest sights – make sure you’re kept in the know about these!

When you find yourself in your room wondering what to do, know that this city has got you covered. As it has great transport links, no matter where you are, you can get to your chosen destination!

If you’re wanting to learn new things, why not visit the Manchester Museum located on Oxford Road, or the Museum of Science and Industry situated in the Castlefield area? Both museums are completely free to look around, and you’ll be able to see various collections; from discovering the secrets of Ancient Egypt to investigating the Ice Age.

Baby of the 90’s or just like the era? Why not go and check out The Crystal Maze? In the real life version of the classic TV show, you will work your way through the 4 game zones by completing challenges. It’s an amazing experience and will be completely worth your day out! Even some of our dwell staff took on the Crystal Maze – be sure to check out our cheesy victory pose!

If you’d rather stay on site, don’t worry, dwell has got you covered. For those keen explorers wanting to be just like Dora, we’ll be arranging trips around the city – get ready to become an honorary Mancunian! We’ll try and show you around the different worlds the city has to offer, such as the ‘hipster’s paradise’ Northern Quarter, to the self-acclaimed luxury dining spot of Spinningfields. We’ll also be holding table tennis or killer pool tournaments so be sure to keep an eye out for the upcoming events!

It may not have the best weather but Newcastle does have the most fun, from bars to museums you’re sure to find plenty to do during your summer!

Just on your doorstop is Nancy’s Bordello a 2 minute walk away from Garth Heads and a popular student bar with fantastic food and cocktails. You’re also a 5 minute walk away from the famous Quayside, home to some of the most trendy bars and eateries in Newcastle. There’s also Newcastle’s very first Q-Festival a celebration of art, music culture and comedy! The festival starts on the 17th of July and runs until the 6th of August and is only a 10 minute walk away from Garth Heads.

It’s not all just bars and booze though, unleash you inner culture vulture. Soak up the Baltic Centre in Quayside, with regular art exhibitions and live music throughout the year and admire famous bridges and stunning architecture of the medieval Newcastle Castle, where the city gets its name from. Also on during your stay will be the Hadrian’s Wall Exhibition

For all you Garth Heads residents preferring to stay on site and keep it simple yet fun, stay tuned for our upcoming events! Can you beat the quiz of all quizzes? Will you be our dwell game master champion? It’s all to play for!
