Results Day is now fast approaching as you all know – it’s the day where you see if all of your hard work and studying has paid off. Some of you may have already achieved particular grades and so have already secured a university place, but some of you may be dependent on a certain set of results. Whatever situation you’re in, here’s our guide of what to expect!
Thursday 17th August – Results Revealed:
Whichever college or sixth form college you attend, they’ll tell you in advance of how to collect your results. You may receive them via email, or they may encourage you to get them in person; whether you tell your friends what’s next in store for you, or thank your tutors for their support, it’s nice to have someone to share your news with.
Got your ideal grades?
That’s great news! You’ll be on track to study your favourite course! Most of your results will be sent through to UCAS who then send them across to your choices. Or, you may need to send the results across to your universities/colleges yourself.
If you received better grades than expected, and wish to see if there’s any other courses now available to you, just look into the Adjustment services that UCAS provide and see what might be on offer.
Not received your dream grades?
Don’t panic, you still have plenty of options! With the grades you have received, you may be able to go through the Clearing process with one of the following options:
- You may get onto your firm or insurance choice
- You could study a different course with the university or college
- You might not be offered a course at that particular university or college, but you can still look through other places – this process is called Clearing

For those who decide that further education now isn’t for them, there’s plenty of other paths to go down. Whether this is a full time job, an apprenticeship or taking a gap year… we wish you the very best of luck in the future, and all the best to anyone with their future studies.
